There are many ways to wrap a vasectomy pack. The goal is to end up with sterile instruments that are ready to use for the vasectomy. It’s also good to have the pack be as complete as possible for the procedure, so that when you open up the pack, you are ready to operate.
Below is a video of one way to wrap a pack. In this video, we include a fenestrated drape, six instruments, a thermocautery tip, a sheath for the thermocautery handle, and several pieces of gauze.
For this video, Jordan wrapped one pack very slowly so we could explain each step, then John wrapped one at a more realistic pace as you might do in the clinic. It’s not a perfect video, but it gives a good idea about one way to wrap a good pack.
